Spreading knowledge for Transfusion safety... From vein to vein. As promised the initiative to form a society exclusively for the advancements of Transfusion Medicine in India has finally been realised.The Society is now registered as Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine (ISTM) with its registered office at SGPGIMS, Lucknow.

This society will serve as a platform for scientific discussions, deliberations, exchange of ideas, teaching/training with regard to Transfusion Medicine pertaining to Indian context. The society will also coordinate with internationally recognised organizations in this field to improve the scientific environment in the field. We will try to make it more interactive in nature by forming various Special Resource Groups (SRG) like SRG on Apheresis & stem cells, Immunohematology, TTI, Clinical hemotherapy, computerization / bar codes, teaching / training in TM etc. As with other scientific societies, ISTM will also have regular CMEs and conferences to keep abreast with the subject.
